SCORUS (Standing Committee on Regional and Urban Statistics) is the international network for regional and urban statistics providing a platform to facilitate the development of urban and regional statistics and research. SCORUS is a committee of the International Association of Official Statistics (IAOS), which is a section of the International Statistical Institute (ISI).

ISI is one of the oldest international scientific associations functioning in the modern world. It was formally established in 1885. The Institute is an autonomous society, which seeks to develop and improve statistical methods and their application through the promotion of international activity and co-operation. ISI has several committees and sections. One of them is IAOS, an association founded in 1985. It is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) and has scientific and professional interest in the field of official statistics. IAOS brings together producers and users of official statistics. An important part of IAOS is SCORUS, the Standing Committee on Regional and Urban Statistics.
